Kamal moves to Los Angeles on a work assignment where he befriends Shivkumar and Disha, both of whom are of Bengali ethnicity. The comfort of a familiar language in an unfamiliar country leads Kamal to grow close to Disha and to earn work favours, he even gets married to her ‘in jest’ in Las Vegas. In India, Kamal’s father has already chosen a girl for him. Disha’s family too has picked out an N.R.I suitor for her who arrives in Los Angeles.
