Summary Of Secret Desires

Originally written in Bengali, these 50 short stories have been translated in English to reach a bigger audience as the protagonists of each tale is relatable to modern and real life.

Readers will be able to identify themselves with some of the characters. When Biplab Ghosh started writing short stories, he received a lot of encouragement from stalwarts like Sunil Gangopadhyay and his stories were published in different dailies.

These stories reflect the complexities of human mind and relationships, as we traverse the tapestry of urban life. Some are true, some are fiction, yet they are so real. Like Turkish writer Orhan Pamuk’s Museum of Innocence, Biplab Ghosh’s Secret Desires will challenge the reader to think deep, to identify if the protagonist is he or she themselves, or someone they know of, they will constantly try to relate to the characters.
