Higher Secondary Biology’ is the latest Biology textbook in for the students of Class 12 under West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education. Under the New Curriculum & Syllabus 2024, Class 12 examination will be conducted in two parts – Semesterester 3 and Semesterester 4. This book is prepared to cater the Semester 3 students only.

The book comprises of 2 units segregated into 6 chapters in total. The Units are ‘Reproduction’ (Unit VI) and ‘Genetics and Evolution (Unit VII) respectively. Along with the existing topics, new topics have been added in some chapters namely Outbreeding Devices, Pollen-Pistil Interaction, Parturition: Mechanism and Neuroendocrine System, Idea of Polygenic Inheritance, Pedigree Analysis, Central Dogma, Evolutionary Evidences etc. Diagrams, flow charts and tables have been added in plenty to make explanations understandable. Semesterester 3 being completely MCQ based, variety of multiple-choice questions have been added in the Exercise portion of the chapters.
