The book “Textbook of Advanced Nursing Practice” covers almost all the aspects of advanced nursing practice. As per the syllabi, the book is divided into 10 units; Unit I deals with nursing history, profession, role of regulatory bodies, legal and ethical issues in nursing, role of research, education and management in nursing. Unit II describes in detail all the methods of healthcare delivery system in India followed by Unit III that covers all matters related to genetics including genetic testing, counseling and its practical applications in nursing. Unit IV explains all aspects of Epidemiology while Unit V covers the topics biopsychosocial pathology that includes common homeostatic problems, infection prevention and innovations in nursing. Philosophies and theories of nursing are discussed in detail in Unit VI. The entire nursing process is discussed in Unit VII. Unit VIII includes topics such as life processes, personality development and disorders, stress and management, principles and techniques of counseling. Unit IX covers various nursing practices and the final unit (Unit X) includes the basics to computers, importance of computers in nursing education and hospital management information system.
